Introduction

We believe that there is a legal and moral duty to make all aspects of the work done by this organisation as safe and healthy as is reasonably practicable and in line with our legal obligations (Health and safety at work acts and any amendments).

The management of Our Sansar Limited acknowledges their obligations for the health, safety and welfare of staff, volunteer workers, work placements, visitors, service users and others, and they are committed to a ‘health and safety’ ethos in all aspects of their work.

General Statement of Policy for Health & Safety

The management of Our Sansar Limited, acknowledges that health and safety has to be managed and that successful health and safety management contributes to the organisation’s overall performance by protecting and developing human and physical resources, reducing costs and liabilities and is an expression of ‘collective responsibility’.

All staff, volunteers and other people working for the organisation can make a valid contribution to achieving this objective, and have a duty to take reasonable care of themselves and those affected by their actions or omissions.

The management of Our Sansar Limited, is committed to improving performance in health and safety and is also committed to health promotion by encouraging the adoption of healthier lifestyles by their staff/volunteers and others working for the organisation.

Statutory requirements and the general duty of care form the basis of Our Sansar Limited this health and safety commitment. Realistic planning, review and development will achieve this commitment.

The management of Our Sansar Limited, undertakes to achieve successful health and safety management and acquire appropriate resources that will be made available for this purpose.

The management of Our Sansar Limited, recognises the importance staff, volunteers and other people working for the organisation have in formulating and reviewing health & safety management. They are encouraged to comment and make representation regarding health & safety issues directly to the director. Responsibility for review, implementation and communication will be delegated to the development officer, as part of the general operation of the organisation.
