SAROJ YADAV – Project Coordinator, Children’s Protection Centre

I am from Janakpur, Dhanusha, Nepal, where Our Sansar’s Children’s Protection Centre project was launched in early 2021. I joined Our Sansar as a Social Worker in 2015. At the very beginning I rescued many street children in Birgunj in coordination with local authorities such as the District Police Office, and children’s authorities. I then was responsible for engaging the children in extracurricular work such as sports, games, drawing, painting, singing, dancing, computer studies, or gardening.

Since our new project started in my home town, Janakpur, I have been promoted to Project Coordinator. What I do now is liaise with the team and project’s stakeholders on the ground, especially with the relevant government departments to rescue the girls in emergency situations, and coordinate with the local authorities and girls’ families.

I feel proud to be a member of Our Sansar and happy to work with the team. A positive change in the children’s lives gives me inner satisfaction so I wish to reach every child who needs support and want to make this Children’s Protection Centre the best in Nepal.

Prior to joining Our Sansar, I worked as a caregiver and counsellor at different children’s homes.
