A huge thank you to everybody that attended out Comedy Rocks event at Bar Rumba, Leicester Square. Your support was invaluable in creating such an amazing atmosphere.
The evening kicked off under the safe stewardship of Neil Frost whose introductions and management of the event was superb. The first act introduced was Lembit Opik, perhaps better known for his policies than his punch lines. However Lembit put in a superb set satirising British politics and drawing on his own observations of the audience to kick off the night with a great routine.
Next was the turn of Marcel Lucont to bring to the stage his wry observations of Britain from his Provencal point of view. This routine left the audience in stitches as a mixture of observation and poetry wowed the sold out crowd and set the tone for the rest of the evening.
After a short interval where the Our Sansar raffle was conducted it was the turn of Michael Fabbri to show the Leicester Square crowd what he was made of, having had the bar set extremely high from the first two acts Michael did not disappointed and delivered a routing of superb quality.
Michael’s routine ended and before we knew it Matthew Crosby was on the stage, such a marathon of high quality was a treat for all the comedy lovers in the audience. Again Matthews’s routine was of the highest quality and underlined the success of the night.
Next to take to the stage was Holly Walsh followed by Paul Chowdry. These two well-known acts wowed the crowds with their sharp observations and audience interaction leaving everybody in the crowd laughed out and exhausted with great memories of both the evening and Our Sansar.
We as an organisation would like to whole heartedly thank all the comedians who performed on or behalf, we are furthermore delighted to announce that we managed to raise over £2000. All proceeds of the night will go towards our recently opened children’s home in Birgunj.
This night was such a success that we all feel like we could do with a break. Although that won’t happen as we are already busy preparing our future events. I was great fun so we hope to see you all again next time.
