WE’VE ARRIVED! After spending a few days taking in the sights and sounds of Kathmandu, we made our 7 hour journey across mountain ranges in a Tata 4×4 down to the Our Sansar Children’s Home near Birganj. Along the route were some breathtaking views coupled with a lady throwing up behind us out of the window most of the way.
During our time here, we will be working in the Children’s Home where we’ll be mucking in with painting the study room, grafting in the garden with the Home’s two new buffaloes and, of course playing with the children.
As well as this, throughout our stay Sean will be conducting a survey gathering data on street children in the local area of Birganj in order to create a publication outlining the circumstances of street children across the region.
We have already settled in where we’ve met the children and played some football with the star players turning out to be Saro and Chimpy – the two cheeky dogs.
Tomorrow we’ll be cracking on with painting the study room and heading into Birganj. Watch this space…
