Performers on stage at Limetree Festival 2011

A reduced Our Sansar team travelled all the way up to the wilds of North Yorkshire last weekend to take part in the Lime Tree music festival. After a very, very long drive up from Brighton we, once again, found ourselves setting up camp in the middle of the night – we are getting rather good at this!

On Saturday we awoke to a rather wet and cold day however we didn’t let this dampen our spirits. We set about installing the Our Sansar stand complete with sign board, donation buckets and information leaflets. The wonderfully talented blues musician Marcus Bonfanti (check him out at www.marcusbonfanti.com) arrived to represent Our Sansar on the James Rae stage at 2pm.

Despite the rain Marcus managed to attract a crowd who were bowled over by his music.

The rest of Saturday afternoon and evening were spent sheltering from the elements in the JB’s World Music Stage listening to some great jazz music and in the Bet Lynch tent watching comedy.

Thankfully on Sunday we awoke to some sunshine! We sprung out of our tents, headed for the tea and bacon butties, and then to work the Our Sansar stand. We must say a HUGE thank you to the very generous people at the festival who dug deep in their pockets to donate to helping street children in Nepal.

Animal Circus (www.facebook.com/animalcircus) entertained a big crowd with their upbeat ‘reggae, ska and good old fashioned rock’n’roll’. BIG thank you to them for representing us on the James Rae stage on Sunday. It goes without saying that Our Sansar are now synonymous with great music and famous in Yorkshire!

Waking up on Monday morning with groggy heads and hazy memories of a silent disco we packed up the Our Sansar stand and our tents ready to embark on the long journey home.

A massive thank you to Kantar Retail that sponsored Our Sansar again and made it possible for us to raise awareness and inform everyone about our projects.

Also, thanks to everyone at the Limetree festival for a great weekend.
