This Summer Orwell & Austin are supporting Our Sansar again!
You may remember, in 2017 Orwell & Austin supported Our Sansar by donating the profits from their Love Jumper. They’re doing it again – this time with the Love T-shirt! Throughout June, July and August, the profits from the Love T-shirt will be donated to Our Sansar. We know Orwell & Austin through our fantastic Legal Advisor Clint, who works with Jessica in his day job, as well as our mutual connection to Nepal, and we are so happy to be working with them again.
Orwell & Austin was founded in 2012 when Jessica Schuhle-Lewis noticed that her wardrobe didn’t have enough colour and fun in it. She wanted to fill this gap with beautiful, playful cashmere pieces that had a bit of colour to brighten things up. It started with colourful scarves, and has since transitioned to jumpers and t-shirts.
Sustainability and the environment have always been important at Orwell & Austin and they focus on using high quality materials, sourced in an environmentally conscious, ethical and a socially responsible way. To do this, they work with a small, family run factory in the Kathmandu Valley of Nepal. It’s an ethically run factory which ensures fair wages and good working conditions for their employees. Cashmere has been manufactured in Nepal for thousands of years, by working with a factory here Orwell & Austin are able to use the skill, expertise and craftsmanship of the Nepalese artisans to bring these beautiful products to the world.
