The second music event organised by Our Sansar took place in one of the Brighton’s most popular live music venues, the Concorde 2. This venue has hosted some of the world’s greatest bands, from Bloc Party’s secret gigs to The White Stripes first ever UK appearance. Despite the very cold weather the night was a great success.
The night itself included live music from four fantastic bands: The Sweet Sweet Lies, The Common Tongues, Deadbeat Descendant and The Laylanas, and video installations to show some pictures from our current projects in Nepal. We also had the great opportunity to have Tymon Dogg who performed with The Clash and The Mescaleros among many others…
The aim of this night was to fundraise for the children’s home that we will be building in Chitwan, Nepal next year for street children. 100% of proceeds from the event (over £550) will go towards the building of the home and support for the children. According to our research in the field, there are between 160 and 200 street children in Chitwan and the few organizations that are established in this city have very limited capacity and funding. The project we are going to run thanks to your donations will allow us to give a shelter to some of them at the beginning and then extend it to as many children as possible.
A big thank you to Kantar Retail that sponsored Our Sansar’s event for the second time this year and also to Infinity Foods, and Hove Oriental Stores. They made it possible for us to host this event and for everyone else to enjoy the great music and to learn more about our projects.
Thank you very much to all the people who support us!
